Thinking Partner Selling™ Sales Tip

Commission a Marketing Review before occupancy problems get serious.
2009 was the year of the audit for many senior living professionals due to declining occupancy and bond covenant misses. This trend has been so predominant that we are hearing many of our financial friends recommend a marketing review before communities require an audit. The word on the street is communities tend to wait too long to get to the bottom of lost sales, and consequently are forced to hire a consultant to perform an in-depth marketing assessment.

It’s better to be proactive when it comes to occupancy; covenant defaults may be preventable if you identify your strengths and weaknesses early and move quickly to improve your sales and marketing performance. We recommend a marketing review as a precautionary measure because it helps a team to uncover areas that need to change, encourages best practices and offers insight into what other communities across the nation are doing successfully and not so successfully.
